Walking together across America
미 동서를 잇는 하나의 걸음
On August 29, 2026, YOUSTAR Foundation in Los Angeles and Esther Ha Foundation in New York will co-host a bicoastal 5K Walk for mental health and suicide prevention, taking place simultaneously in LA and NY.
This family-friendly event will bring Korean Americans and friends together on both coasts to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and show that no one walks alone in their mental health journey.
2026년 8월 29일, 로스앤젤레스의 유스타 파운데이션(YOUSTAR Foundation)과 뉴욕의 에스터 하 파운데이션(Esther Ha Foundation)이 정신건강과 자살예방을 위한 5K 걷기 대회를 LA와 뉴욕에서 동시에 공동 개최합니다.
온 가족이 함께할 수 있는 이 행사는 미 동서 양안의 한인과 친구들을 한자리에 모아 정신건강에 대한 인식을 높이고 편견을 줄이며, 정신건강의 여정에서 그 누구도 혼자 걷지 않는다는 것을 함께 보여줍니다.

현장에서는
A festival of hope at both sites
두 도시에서 함께 열리는 희망의 축제
Each site will feature a 5K walk, an opening ceremony with messages of hope, and a wellness stage offering workshops, testimonies, and resources focused on mental health and suicide prevention. Youth volunteers will help energize the crowd and support participants along the route, creating a festival-style atmosphere with information, activities, and bilingual (Korean/English) resources for individuals and families.
각 지역에서는 5K 걷기와 함께 희망의 메시지를 나누는 개회식, 그리고 정신건강과 자살예방을 주제로 한 워크숍·간증·자료를 제공하는 웰니스 스테이지가 마련됩니다. 청소년 자원봉사자들이 현장의 분위기를 북돋우고 코스 곳곳에서 참가자들을 응원하며, 개인과 가족을 위한 정보와 체험 활동, 한국어·영어 이중언어 자료가 함께하는 축제 같은 분위기를 만듭니다.

“저는 ____를 위해 걷습니다”
Participants will wear a bib that says “I’m walking for _____,” filling in the name of someone they want to honor or cheer on as they walk.
참가자는 “I’m walking for _____”라고 적힌 배번(BIB)을 착용하고, 기리고 싶은 사람 또는 응원하고 싶은 사람의 이름을 직접 적어 넣습니다.

At our booths, participants can submit a personal message they’d like to carry, and our calligraphy artists will transform it into a beautiful keepsake after they finish their walk.
